NexusTek is a managed IT provider that runs cloud, security and day-to-day IT for businesses that would rather not build those teams themselves. It was founded in 1996 and is based in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Most of its material speaks to small and medium-sized businesses that want one partner for end-user support, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity and IT consulting. Its executive summary aims higher, at mid-sized and enterprise companies. Read it as a company that serves both and ask which of its teams would serve you.
Best for
- Small and mid-sized businesses that want one provider for IT support, cloud and security instead of several.
- Lean IT teams buried in security tools and alerts that want detection and response handled for them.
- Companies with no security staff of their own that need their network watched.
- Organizations with cloud workloads in more than one place that want a single team monitoring all of it.
- Businesses that must show progress on GDPR, HIPAA or CCPA and need senior security guidance part time.
- Offices that run both Mac and Windows computers.
What they offer
Cloud and IaaS. Hybrid Cloud Managed Services monitors and supports workloads in AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, NexusTek's own cloud or your premises. It comes in Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers, and every tier includes a named Service Delivery Manager. NexusTek also offers its own private cloud in three levels of isolation, virtual desktops on a single-tenant platform, reviews of AWS environments against Amazon's Well-Architected framework, and disaster recovery as a service.
Managed Security. Managed cybersecurity comes in Essentials, Standard and Advanced plans. All three include managed endpoint detection and response and cloud email security. A separate managed detection and response service, network security monitoring, zero trust network access and a virtual chief information security officer round out the line.
NexusTek also sells managed help desk, virtual CIO and professional IT services. Those fall under Managed IT, a shelf this store does not list NexusTek on.

Proof
NexusTek's own overview counts more than 1,200 managed clients, more than 200 engineers, offices in six states, customers in 48 states and support staffed in the United States around the clock. It says it has placed on the MSP 501 ranking five years running. Two service sheets call it a Microsoft Gold Partner.
Its usable customer stories withhold the names.
A privately held construction company with more than 220 employees. It could not meet the requirements of its cyber insurance. NexusTek's virtual security officer assessed the gaps and rolled out multi-factor authentication to every employee account.
A fully online public university with more than 600 employees. NexusTek took over server and network monitoring so students could reach coursework at any hour, prepared a disaster recovery plan and assigned a Service Delivery Manager to the university's IT leadership.
These figures and accounts are NexusTek's own.
Good to know
- Most of the documents are undated, including the ones that cite its Microsoft partner status and its ranking. Ask for current credentials.
- Zero trust network access is delivered with Timus, email security is built on Barracuda, and the private cloud's file sharing runs on Citrix ShareFile.
- Security plans are tiered. Awareness training, DNS security and a yearly allowance of incident response hours start at the Standard plan. Managed log monitoring by a security operations center comes only with Advanced.
- The network monitoring service detects and alerts. Fixing what it finds is a separate arrangement, so ask what happens after an alert.
- Its offices and data centers are in the West, Texas, Massachusetts and New Jersey. If you need someone on site, check the distance.

How buying works
The store is the easy part. Staying on the account is the job.
Anyone can show you logos. The reason to buy here is what happens on install night, and on the ticket you open nine months later.
- 01
Build your quote list
Add services and companies as you shop. No form stands between you and the shelf.
- 02
We bring back real options
A person shops the bench against your addresses, then walks you through what fits and what does not.
- 03
We handle the order and install
Paperwork, site survey, install dates, cutover night. You get one thread, not five vendors.
- 04
We stay on your account
Same team for moves, adds, tickets and the next renewal. That is the part everyone else drops.
