Assured Data Protection runs backup and disaster recovery for you as a managed service, built on Rubrik's data protection platform. Assured supplies the hardware and software, watches it around the clock and performs the recoveries, so there is no backup system for you to buy or operate.
The service rests on three ideas. Backup copies cannot be altered once written, wherever they sit. A second copy lives in a separate, isolated location. And the backups themselves are scanned for signs of ransomware and unusual activity, so you know which copy is clean before you restore it.

- Managed Backup. Backup, recovery and archiving for one site or many, with hardware, software and support in one plan. A report covering the past 24 hours is produced automatically for audits.
- Disaster Recovery as a Service. Recovery into Assured's environment in place of a second site of your own. Its own tool, RecoverView, automates recovery tests and live failover and writes a compliance report each time.
- Off-site replication. A current copy of your backups in one of Assured's facilities or a location you choose.
- Backup for Microsoft 365. Covers Exchange mail, personal and shared file storage, SharePoint sites and Teams, with recovery of a single item or a whole mailbox, account or site, and retention periods you set.
Managed Security. Cyber Resiliency as a Service watches backup data continuously for known threats, ransomware and odd behavior, using machine learning, and helps you return to the last clean state.

A nonprofit community-development financial institution. Its previous Microsoft 365 backup was failing and could not protect SharePoint, so it moved to Assured's fully managed service on Rubrik's air-gapped, immutable backup, covering Exchange Online, SharePoint, file storage and Teams, with around-the-clock support and daily status reports through Assured's ProtectView platform.
A workforce-management software company with about 450 staff across two sites. After an acquisition left it with fragmented backups, one site on an outside provider and the other on Azure Backup, its small infrastructure team consolidated onto Assured's managed Rubrik service for immutable, ransomware-protected backups across both locations, live within hours, easing its ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus compliance.
A regional law firm with about 500 staff across three offices. Running roughly 150 mostly-virtual servers and tens of terabytes of data, it retired an in-house backup with costly second-site replication that could not meet its recovery targets, moving to Assured's fully managed Rubrik service for backup, archive, replication and disaster recovery, with annual DR tests and managed DR invocation handled for it.
Assured also says the four Microsoft 365 workloads can be restored in three clicks using a global search, that its platform can manage tens of thousands of users under one policy from a single dashboard, and that for federal work it runs a US-based support team focused on CJIS and CMMC workloads, with proof-of-concept projects completed in 48 to 72 hours and ransomware recovery drills twice a year.
Good to know
- The technology underneath is Rubrik's. Assured's contribution is the operation, the monitoring and its own recovery and reporting tools.
- There are two commercial models: Capacity, a set amount, and Consumption, which follows your usage.
- For Microsoft 365, part of the system runs inside your own Azure subscription, so expect some Azure setup on your side.
- Assured cites global data centers for meeting data residency rules and names no locations. Ask where your copies would sit.
- For federal projects, delivery may come through integrators as well as directly.
