GigTel is a cloud phone and contact center provider run as a member-owned cooperative, with roots in a telephone company founded in the 1800s. Its parent is Endeavor Communications, and GigTel says the cooperative structure is why its service is built around personal support rather than investor returns. The product is one hosted platform: business phone seats in a Standard and an Advanced tier, a contact center on the same system, a mobile app, browser-based video meetings, and GigTel Connect, which puts a GigTel softphone inside Microsoft Teams. Unlimited 24/7 US-based support and training come with the service, and GigTel will administer the system for a customer who prefers that. It serves the United States and Canada. For a buyer, GigTel is a phone and contact center provider whose pitch is hands-on setup and included support from a cooperative.
Best for
- Microsoft Teams shops that want to place and take business calls from the Teams dial pad, on a desktop or the Teams mobile app, without switching to a second application.
- Multi-site and seasonal operations that mix full phone seats, contact center seats and basic seats and want to change the mix site by site as the season turns.
- Small contact centers that want call monitoring, whisper coaching, recording and wallboards from their phone provider rather than a separate contact center vendor.
- Offices with nobody to run the phone system, since GigTel will manage users, locations and auto-attendant settings for you as part of the service.
The service is available in the United States and Canada, so a company with offices beyond those two countries needs a different provider for those sites.
What they offer
Cloud Phone Systems. A hosted VoIP phone system that replaces on-premises equipment and runs multiple locations, mobile and remote staff as one system, keeping your existing numbers. Seats come in Standard and Advanced tiers; the Advanced seat includes video conferencing, with up to four people sharing screens at once and webinars for up to 1,000 attendees, recorded if you want. GigTel Connect adds a GigTel softphone inside Microsoft Teams, so calls inside and outside the company are made from the Teams dial pad on a computer or the Teams mobile app. The GigTel mobile app, for iPhone, iPad and Android, carries the company directory and presence, SMS, call recording, voicemail, conference calling, a Wi-Fi to cellular handoff during a call, and the ability to move a live call from one device to another. Desk phones are Yealink and Grandstream, bought or leased, or bring your own unlocked SIP phones. GigTel lists ready-made integrations with more than 200 CRMs and business applications for call logging and contact sync, and sells eFax, marketing on hold and SIP trunking as add-ons.
Contact Center. A cloud contact center on the same platform: a multi-tier auto attendant, call queues with configurable routing and thresholds, SMS queuing alongside phone, email, text and chat, call monitoring, recording and whisper coaching for training, wallboards and customizable dashboards, reports that can be scheduled by email, and supervisor tools to schedule and manage agents. Agents work from a softphone or the mobile app, so a remote team takes calls from anywhere with an internet connection.

Proof
This story comes from GigTel's own published case study, told here without the customer's name.
A franchisee network of a national tax-preparation brand, with seasonal staff and sites that included counters inside a national retailer's stores. Its previous provider had left some sites going in and out of service, and it needed several kinds of seat: call center, full phone seats and basic seats for the retail counters. GigTel deployed new service and hardware site by site during the migration, with auto attendant, call queues, SMS and chat and two- and three-digit dialing, and let the franchisee mix seat types and features with the season. Over the following year the account grew from one franchisee to more than 20, with more than 700 users, on referrals from one franchisee to the next.
GigTel states that unlimited 24/7 US-based support, training, updates and a knowledge base are included with its service, and that it will administer the system for customers who prefer not to. These statements are the company's own, from its 2026 website and an undated one-pager.
Good to know
- GigTel Connect depends on your Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 setup. Confirm your licensing and how Teams users and GigTel seats map to each other before planning a deployment.
- The one-pager says GigTel has delivered telecom for more than 70 years, and the website traces its parent company to telephone exchanges founded in the late 1800s. Read both as the parent cooperative's history.
- GigTel's site lists industry pages for healthcare, automotive dealerships and faith organizations, but those pages returned no content when fetched for this page, so its industry-specific offers are not described here. Ask for them directly.
- Product names and figures here are the company's own material.

How buying works
The store is the easy part. Staying on the account is the job.
Anyone can show you logos. The reason to buy here is what happens on install night, and on the ticket you open nine months later.
- 01
Build your quote list
Add services and companies as you shop. No form stands between you and the shelf.
- 02
We bring back real options
A person shops the bench against your addresses, then walks you through what fits and what does not.
- 03
We handle the order and install
Paperwork, site survey, install dates, cutover night. You get one thread, not five vendors.
- 04
We stay on your account
Same team for moves, adds, tickets and the next renewal. That is the part everyone else drops.
