DSM is a cloud and managed IT provider that runs private, hybrid and virtual private cloud from its own secure, redundant data centers. It positions itself around control and compliance: rather than putting workloads on a shared public cloud, it gives a customer a private computing and virtualization layer in its data centers, which it says is trusted by security-conscious state agencies and can meet demanding compliance standards. Around the infrastructure it wraps managed IT, data protection and disaster recovery, and a set of Microsoft 365 and virtual-desktop services it brands Miruma. For a buyer, DSM is a way to get cloud with a high degree of control, plus a team to run the whole environment, from one regional provider.
Best for
- Companies that want the flexibility of cloud but need a private, controlled environment for compliance or security reasons.
- Organizations in regulated or public-sector settings that need the data center and cloud to meet audited standards.
- Businesses that want a hybrid setup, keeping some workloads on premises or in public cloud while running others in a private cloud, managed as one.
- Teams that want a provider to run their IT day to day on a predictable monthly rate.
A company comfortable self-serving on a public hyperscaler, with its own staff to run it, is a different buyer than DSM's private, managed model targets.
What they offer
Cloud and IaaS. A private cloud with your own dedicated computing and virtualization layer in DSM's data centers, a virtual private cloud option, and a hybrid cloud service that runs workloads across private cloud, public cloud and on-premises based on what each one needs for performance, compliance and budget.
Colocation. DSM's own secure, highly redundant data centers, where it hosts the private cloud and can house customer infrastructure with high-uptime commitments.
Backup and Disaster Recovery. Disaster recovery as a service and data protection, including backup for Microsoft 365, so workloads and data can be recovered after a loss or outage.
DSM also provides fully managed IT services, running and supporting the infrastructure for a flat monthly rate for companies that want to hand off operations.

Good to know
- DSM's pitch is control and compliance in a private cloud, backed by its own data centers. Confirm the specific certifications and uptime commitments for the environment you would use.
- It is a regional, managed-focused provider. Weigh its footprint and the managed model against a self-service public cloud depending on how much you want to run yourself.
- Product names here are the company's own material.

How buying works
The store is the easy part. Staying on the account is the job.
Anyone can show you logos. The reason to buy here is what happens on install night, and on the ticket you open nine months later.
- 01
Build your quote list
Add services and companies as you shop. No form stands between you and the shelf.
- 02
We bring back real options
A person shops the bench against your addresses, then walks you through what fits and what does not.
- 03
We handle the order and install
Paperwork, site survey, install dates, cutover night. You get one thread, not five vendors.
- 04
We stay on your account
Same team for moves, adds, tickets and the next renewal. That is the part everyone else drops.
