Enzu

  • Data Center and Colocation

Enzu rents dedicated servers and private clouds in data centers worldwide, for companies that want their own hardware without owning or housing it. It is privately held, has operated since 2016 and is based in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The product it leads with is bare metal: a physical server that is yours alone, ordered through a portal or an API and ready in minutes. Around that it builds private clouds to order on its TruCloud platform, and it rents colocation space. Its services summary counts 925 customers, 135 private clouds and 8,650 bare metal servers across 56 data centers.

Enzu is small, about 30 people, and it does not try to do everything. That same summary lists what it does not offer, including managed public cloud, security operations and desktop services.

Best for

  • Companies with their own IT staff that want full administrative access to their servers, with Enzu managing alongside them.
  • Organizations leaving VMware that want a planned migration to another platform.
  • Businesses that need servers in several parts of the world managed from one console.
  • Gaming, e-commerce, content delivery, software and web hosting companies that need raw performance and scale.
  • Regulated firms that want single-tenant hardware for control over where data sits.
  • Teams with older applications that are not ready for the cloud and must keep running while other work moves.

What they offer

Cloud and IaaS. Bare Metal Cloud Servers and the TruMetal line are dedicated physical servers with a choice of processors and optional GPUs, managed through a self-service portal. Private cloud hosting is built to order and combines containers, virtual machines and software-defined storage. Hybrid designs mix private cloud, public cloud and bare metal. Disaster recovery comes in three levels, from continuous off-site replication to a dedicated recovery environment. Enzu also migrates workloads and co-manages operating systems and hardware while you keep administrative access.

Colocation. Racks, secured cabinets and private cages with biometric and key card entry, in facilities it describes as Tier 1 to 3.

Proof

Enzu's own commitments, by product:

  • Bare metal: hardware replaced within one hour, 100 percent network and power uptime, and a ticket response within 10 minutes.
  • Private cloud: a 99.99 percent service level with support around the clock.
  • Colocation: a 100 percent availability guarantee.
  • Network: more than 1 terabit per second of internet capacity and more than 300 peering connections.

Good to know

  • Enzu's own services summary says SOC 2, SOC 3, HIPAA and PCI attestations are provided by the data center operators, and that Enzu's portal and hardware were still in the audit process. Its marketing sheets say solutions are engineered to meet those standards. Ask for the current audit reports.
  • The data centers belong to other operators. The count also varies by document: more than 40, 56, and more than 100 for private cloud. Ask which facility you would use.
  • Response time is stated as 10 minutes in the bare metal sheets and 15 minutes in the services summary.
  • Enzu provides licenses for VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat, Fortinet and Veeam. It does not provide Oracle, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco or F5 licenses, so you would bring those yourself.
  • To move off VMware, you export your machines to a storage endpoint Enzu supplies, and Enzu restores them on its platform after checking the files.

How buying works

The store is the easy part. Staying on the account is the job.

Anyone can show you logos. The reason to buy here is what happens on install night, and on the ticket you open nine months later.

  1. 01

    Build your quote list

Add services and companies as you shop. No form stands between you and the shelf.

  2. 02

    We bring back real options

A person shops the bench against your addresses, then walks you through what fits and what does not.

  3. 03

We handle the order and install

Paperwork, site survey, install dates, cutover night. You get one thread, not five vendors.

  4. 04

    We stay on your account

Same team for moves, adds, tickets and the next renewal. That is the part everyone else drops.
