Everstream is a business-only fiber network operator that runs about 27,000 route miles of fiber in ten Midwestern states. The defining facts are that it owns the network and serves only businesses, not consumers, which is how it frames its difference from the large telecoms. It delivers high-capacity, low-latency connections with symmetric upload and download speeds up to 100 Gbps, and because it owns the fiber and staffs local field offices, it installs and supports the service with its own people in the markets it covers. On top of the connectivity it offers managed SD-WAN and voice services. It is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. For a buyer in its footprint, Everstream is a regional fiber provider that controls the network end to end.
Best for
- Businesses in Everstream's Midwest footprint that want fiber from a provider that owns the network and supports it with local staff.
- Organizations that need high, symmetric bandwidth, up to 100 Gbps, for data-heavy or cloud-heavy operations.
- Multi-site companies that want managed SD-WAN to connect and prioritize traffic across locations on one network.
- Buyers who want connectivity and voice from the same fiber provider rather than separate vendors.
A business outside Everstream's ten-state footprint will not be served by its network, so the first question is always coverage at your specific addresses.
What they offer
Business Connectivity. Dedicated internet access over Everstream's own fiber with symmetric speeds up to 100 Gbps, a virtual dedicated internet option, and wide-area network services that link sites privately across the footprint. Two details of the dedicated internet product are worth knowing. Routing software at the network edge watches the upstream routes it uses for latency, packet loss and jitter and moves traffic to the best-performing path, which Everstream says has improved more than 90 percent of its daily traffic. And its BGP setup lets a primary and a backup circuit share one IP address, so the backup carries traffic every day instead of waiting for an outage. The service level guarantees 99.99 percent uptime and a four-hour mean time to repair.
SD-WAN and SASE. Managed SD-WAN that routes and prioritizes traffic across sites over the Everstream network, managed for the customer.
Cloud Phone Systems. Voice over the same fiber, including a hosted PBX phone system, SIP trunking, and a cloud contact center.

Customer stories Everstream has published, told here without the customer's name.
A Michigan city of more than 20,000 residents near Detroit. It turned to Everstream's fiber network and managed services to carry a growing public-safety load, from an E-911 platform to surveillance and body-camera footage, and to support a mixed-use downtown development with heavy bandwidth needs.
A Michigan K-12 school district serving more than 7,600 students. Everstream built a 41-route-mile fiber ring connecting its 14 schools, with dark-fiber strands the district owns and a 10 Gbps dedicated internet connection, giving it the bandwidth for a full technology upgrade with room to grow.
A resort-style hotel and conference center outside Chicago. With more than 200 guestrooms and tens of thousands of square feet of event space, it replaced a slow, dropping connection with an Everstream fiber network and a 1 Gbps capacity upgrade, so guests and simultaneous conference groups get the connectivity they now expect.
Good to know
- Everstream is facilities-based and regional. Its value is tied to where it has built fiber, so confirm coverage and the exact speeds available at each address.
- Because it owns the network and staffs local field offices, installation and support come from its own teams rather than a subcontractor. Ask about local coverage for your area.
- The colocation listing is really data center connectivity. Everstream publishes a list of 63 data center locations its fiber reaches, two of them under its own name in Michigan and Ohio and the rest run by other operators, so ask which facilities are on-net for you before you plan a move.
- Figures here are the company's own, from 2022 material, so confirm the current route-mile and state counts.

How buying works
The store is the easy part. Staying on the account is the job.
Anyone can show you logos. The reason to buy here is what happens on install night, and on the ticket you open nine months later.
- 01
Build your quote list
Add services and companies as you shop. No form stands between you and the shelf.
- 02
We bring back real options
A person shops the bench against your addresses, then walks you through what fits and what does not.
- 03
We handle the order and install
Paperwork, site survey, install dates, cutover night. You get one thread, not five vendors.
- 04
We stay on your account
Same team for moves, adds, tickets and the next renewal. That is the part everyone else drops.
