Open Systems is a managed SASE provider that combines SD-WAN and cloud-delivered security into one service run for the customer. SASE, secure access service edge, is a category that merges wide-area networking with network security into a single cloud-based platform, so the network and its protection are managed together instead of as separate stacks. Open Systems delivers that as a managed service: it runs the platform and provides around-the-clock global support, which it aims at organizations whose small network and security teams cannot stand up and operate SASE on their own. The service can run on a Microsoft Azure backbone and includes specialized handling for hard connectivity problems such as reaching into China. For a buyer, Open Systems is a way to get SASE without building and staffing it in-house.
Best for
- Organizations with remote and hybrid staff and applications split between the cloud and on premises that need secure access from anywhere.
- Companies that want SD-WAN and security converged and managed for them, rather than running separate networking and security tools.
- Businesses with small network and security teams that cannot operate a SASE platform themselves.
- Multinationals with difficult connectivity needs, including reaching sites or users in China.
A company with a mature in-house network and security operation may prefer to run SASE itself. Open Systems fits where that capability is thin and a managed service is wanted.
What they offer
SD-WAN and SASE. A managed SASE service that combines SD-WAN with cloud-delivered security, including a secure web gateway, firewall and zero-trust network access, on a single platform. It can run over a Microsoft Azure cloud backbone, and includes specialized connectivity for reaching China.
Managed Security. Security run by Open Systems as part of the service: zero-trust network access, DNS-layer protection, and managed detection and response, backed by 24/7 global support so a customer does not staff the monitoring itself.

Customer stories Open Systems has published, told here without the customer's name.
A global specialty-chemicals manufacturer with operations in 100 countries. It integrated more than 25 acquisitions over five years on Open Systems' secure SD-WAN, which replaced its legacy MPLS, with Open Systems' Mission Control operations center as the single point of contact for running and securing the global network.
A publicly traded clinical research organization operating in nearly 100 countries with about 20,000 employees. It replaced a sprawl of siloed third-party systems with a centralized Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platform that Open Systems operationalizes, moving compliance, data protection and security to the cloud with Azure Sentinel, Log Analytics and Monitor managed for it.
A global electronics-components manufacturer with 15,000 employees across 60 locations in 16 countries. Pursuing a cloud-first strategy, it deployed Open Systems' secure SD-WAN and multi-cloud connectivity to fold hybrid cloud into its global WAN, with Open Systems proactively monitoring and fixing issues, often before the customer noticed them.
Good to know
- Open Systems delivers SASE as a managed service rather than software you run. Confirm what its team owns day to day and what the support and response commitments are.
- Because the network and security are converged, moving to Open Systems usually means consolidating tools you run today. Weigh that consolidation deliberately.
- Product names here are the company's own material.

How buying works
The store is the easy part. Staying on the account is the job.
Anyone can show you logos. The reason to buy here is what happens on install night, and on the ticket you open nine months later.
- 01
Build your quote list
Add services and companies as you shop. No form stands between you and the shelf.
- 02
We bring back real options
A person shops the bench against your addresses, then walks you through what fits and what does not.
- 03
We handle the order and install
Paperwork, site survey, install dates, cutover night. You get one thread, not five vendors.
- 04
We stay on your account
Same team for moves, adds, tickets and the next renewal. That is the part everyone else drops.
