TierPoint runs 40 data centers across the United States and sells colocation, managed cloud and disaster recovery from them. Its brief calls that footprint one of the largest and most geographically spread in the country, with data centers in 20 markets joined by a coast-to-coast network.
Most of what it sells sits on that footprint or points at the public clouds. You can place your own equipment in its buildings, including dense cabinets built for AI workloads, or have TierPoint run your servers, your Azure or AWS environment and your disaster recovery. It calls itself cloud agnostic: it says it places a workload wherever it fits best, whether its own data centers, a private cloud, or Azure or AWS.
Best for
- Companies that want the reliability of a professional data center without owning and staffing one, from small businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises.
- Organizations running AI or high-performance computing that need dense power and liquid cooling in a cabinet.
- VMware shops deciding what to do next after Broadcom's licensing and partner changes.
- Companies running IBM Power systems, such as IBM i or AIX, that need hosting, management and disaster recovery for them.
- Teams whose cloud bill is unpredictable and who want idle and oversized resources found and removed.
- Companies making a first move off on-premises servers that want one partner for the migration and the running afterward.
What they offer
Colocation. Cabinets, cages and suites in 40 carrier-neutral data centers with staff on site at all hours. High-density colocation supports rack densities above 130 kilowatts with liquid cooling options. Physical data center migrations are delivered with partner Silverback, with equipment tracked by GPS in transit.
Cloud and IaaS. Managed public cloud, with support at any hour from certified engineers and rightsizing recommendations. Managed Azure and Azure Stack for hybrid setups. A cost and security optimization service for AWS and Azure that begins with a scan of your environment, plus consulting on application modernization, DevOps and data analytics.
Backup and Disaster Recovery. Cloud disaster recovery as a service that replicates applications from anywhere, on-premises or cloud, to a private or public cloud, built on replication technology from Microsoft, AWS and Zerto, with recovery objectives configurable down to minutes, run for you or by you. For IBM Power, tiered high availability and recovery services delivered with CloudFirst, and managed cloud and disaster recovery delivered with Tectrade.
Managed Security. Adapt, a managed detection and response service run by TierPoint analysts around the clock on a platform with a built-in SIEM and automated response engine.
Managed IT. Remote management of IBM Power systems with Tectrade, covering monitoring, patching and break-fix support, alongside the broader managed services in its catalog.
The catalog also lists TierPoint under Desktop as a Service. Its own services list names virtual desktops in one line, and no document available here describes that offering.

Coverage
- US (Nationwide)
Coverage is a starting point. We check every address before we quote it.
Proof
- TierPoint says its data centers are audited against ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-53, PCI-DSS and HIPAA, hold SOC 1 Type II and SOC 2 Type II reports, and carry SOC 2 with HITRUST, GLBA and ITAR as well.
- It states a 100 percent uptime service level for its data center facilities.
- Its top IBM Power tier commits to under a minute of data loss and under 15 minutes to recover, and the Tectrade platform it uses has completed more than 2,000 role swaps with a 100 percent recovery success rate.
- It describes itself as a VMware Pinnacle Partner that has guided thousands of VMware workload migrations.
A United States trailer leasing and rental company. It moved off its on-premises setup to a tailored Azure environment on an aggressive timeline, using a tiered migration to limit risk and downtime.
A New England software company in procurement. It inherited an Azure environment with unpredictable monthly costs. TierPoint's assessment found and removed idle virtual machines that were consuming storage and budget.
These figures and accounts are TierPoint's own.
Good to know
- Partners deliver several lines. CloudFirst and Tectrade deliver the IBM Power services, Silverback the physical migrations, and Microsoft, AWS and Zerto technology sits under the disaster recovery service. Ask who runs what before you sign.
- Disaster recovery and Azure work can be fully managed or self-service, at your choice.
- Some of its facilities are edge data centers in second- and third-tier markets, meant to cut latency there.
- The VMware sheet is dated 2025, the colocation brief 2024 and the IBM Power sheets 2023 to 2024.

How buying works
The store is the easy part. Staying on the account is the job.
Anyone can show you logos. The reason to buy here is what happens on install night, and on the ticket you open nine months later.
- 01
Build your quote list
Add services and companies as you shop. No form stands between you and the shelf.
- 02
We bring back real options
A person shops the bench against your addresses, then walks you through what fits and what does not.
- 03
We handle the order and install
Paperwork, site survey, install dates, cutover night. You get one thread, not five vendors.
- 04
We stay on your account
Same team for moves, adds, tickets and the next renewal. That is the part everyone else drops.
