CommandLink is a network, security and voice provider that runs every location's connectivity from one platform it built itself. It started as a software developer, founded in 2012, and grew into a global network, security and voice provider, so the platform came first: a service-management console that holds circuits, SD-WAN, security, cloud phones, billing, tickets and analytics for every site in one view. Behind the console sit relationships with more than 5,000 internet providers for sourcing circuits, a nationwide SD-WAN and voice network that CommandLink says it owns and operates with Tier 1 peering, and hardware shipped next business day to more than 100 countries. Support is a dedicated tier-3 team per customer, and you can have CommandLink run everything or keep SD-WAN policy in your own hands. For a multi-location business tired of managing carriers, CommandLink is a way to put the whole stack under one agreement and one console.

Best for

  • Multi-location companies buying circuits, security and voice from several vendors that want one master agreement, one console and one support team in their place.
  • Chains that open, close or acquire sites quickly and want a repeatable rollout, with hardware shipped next business day and a stated bench of more than 5,000 field technicians.
  • Healthcare groups that need phones, network and security delivered together as one HIPAA-covered stack with a business associate agreement.
  • IT teams that would rather hand 24/7 network and security monitoring to an outside team than staff a network or security operations center of their own.

A single-site business with one circuit and no vendor sprawl gets less from a platform built to consolidate many services.

What they offer

Business Connectivity. Dedicated primary and secondary circuits at every location, sourced through more than 5,000 carrier relationships and procured and billed under one master agreement, with point-to-point links between data centers and MPLS into the sites that need private networking. Hardware ships next business day to more than 100 countries, and a dedicated project manager runs custom deployments.

SD-WAN and SASE. SD-WAN with cloud-delivered security, designed and deployed by CommandLink's own teams and managed from the same console, most often to replace MPLS. Its route-diversity guidance mixes fiber, cable, broadband, cellular, fixed wireless and satellite at a site.

Managed Security. A 24/7 security operations center sold as a service: network detection and response on CommandLink's firewalls, managed detection and response across third-party firewalls and tools, and signals pulled from network, endpoint, log, cloud, identity and vulnerability sources.

Cloud Phone Systems. A cloud phone system with collaboration and a contact center built in, plus direct routing for Microsoft Teams voice, delivered and managed on the same platform as the network.

Wireless and IoT. In the documents read for this page, wireless means a cellular or fixed-wireless circuit added as a backup or diverse path beside wired connections. No standalone IoT device product appears in them.

The platform itself, which CommandLink calls its ITSM, polls every circuit for bandwidth, latency, packet loss and ping, opens support cases automatically when something trips a threshold, and correlates network health with security signals such as suspicious logins and lateral movement.

Proof

Customer stories CommandLink has published, told here without the customer's name.

A New Jersey hospital network combining three hospitals and a university hospital. It bought a single HIPAA-covered stack from CommandLink in 2019: cloud phones, contact center, SD-WAN with a next-generation firewall and an analytics layer, run by a dedicated deployment team and certified project manager, with a dedicated 24/7 engineering POD afterward. The case study reports bandwidth capacity up 25 times through an active/active hybrid WAN with diverse backup, a one-hour SLA on configuration changes, and a 100 percent uptime SLA on the voice network and SD-WAN.

A Fortune 500 financial services company with 1,000 branches and 50,000 employees worldwide. Each branch ran on one or two low-speed MPLS circuits, between T1 and 6 Mbps, backed by low-bandwidth LTE with no direct internet access. CommandLink replaced them with Versa SD-WAN and SD-Security in high-availability mode, managed through Versa Director with Versa Analytics for traffic and threat visibility. The 2019 case study reports per-branch bandwidth up 25 times and time to service nine times faster through plug-and-play activation.

The 60th-largest bank in the United States, with 115 locations. It moved from MPLS to Versa SD-WAN plus a next-generation firewall, with CommandLink's project management team running the transition without drawing on the bank's own staff, and then handed ongoing network support to CommandLink.

CommandLink states a bench of more than 5,000 technicians for site deployments and, in one case study, full deployment at every location in 90 days or less. These figures are the company's own.

Good to know

  • Support comes from a dedicated Command|POD, and CommandLink states an SLA of under ten minutes to engage a tier-3 engineer and one hour for configuration changes. Get those written into your agreement.
  • Two operating models: fully managed, with CommandLink engineers handling everything, or self-managed, where your team keeps control of services such as SD-WAN and CommandLink stays behind you.
  • The CommandAPI lets you pull tickets, circuit inventory and billing into your own systems, for a company that does not want to live in another portal.
  • Only two documents behind this page are dated, both from 2019. The network map is image-only, so geography here rests on stated capacities rather than a location list. Ask for current figures and a coverage check at your addresses.
  • Product names here are the company's own material.

How buying works

The store is the easy part. Staying on the account is the job.

Anyone can show you logos. The reason to buy here is what happens on install night, and on the ticket you open nine months later.

  1. 01

    Build your quote list

Add services and companies as you shop. No form stands between you and the shelf.

  2. 02

    We bring back real options

A person shops the bench against your addresses, then walks you through what fits and what does not.

  3. 03

We handle the order and install

Paperwork, site survey, install dates, cutover night. You get one thread, not five vendors.

  4. 04

    We stay on your account

Same team for moves, adds, tickets and the next renewal. That is the part everyone else drops.
